Starting out as a guitar player at age 11, Jamie developed a strong passion for creating and playing music, and would spend hours working out old blues songs from his parents record collection. He started to get noticed for his stunning guitar playing around his hometown of Galway when he was just a teenager, and paid for his way through school and college by busking in the streets of Galway. He travelled to Chicago with the dream of becoming a blues guitarist in 2011, and for several months, toured all of Chicago's most famous blues clubs, including Buddy's Guys Legends, and The Kingston Mines. Jamie was first brought to the media's attention when he raised €6,000 for Lily-Mae, a young girl with a rare form of children's cancer, by busking for four days during the Volvo Ocean Race Festival in Galway. He then went on to perform on the track "A Song For Lilly Mae" which was a cover of Elton Johns "Tiny Dancer" and which reached the number one spot on the Irish Charts. Although Jamie had been writing songs since the very start, it wasn't until he was 19 years old that he started singing. After undergoing an operation that was causing the singer breathing problems, he discovered his singing voice, almost overnight, and began to finally sing the songs he had been writing for years. Not long after, Jamie's songs were noticed by the manager of multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Ken Nelson, most notably Coldplay's producer, who has also worked with people such as Sam Smith, Paolo Nutini, Stevie Wonder, Emeli Sande, and countless others. Ken loved Jamie's voice and his songs, and in March 2015, Ken travelled to Ireland to record Jamie's debut EP in Grouse Lodge Studios in Westmeath. Jamie's debut single, "If I Only Knew Your Name" was released on the 16th of October 2015. He was invited to Los Angeles by director Nicholas Lam (Bastille, Jason Derulo, Kylie Minogue) to shoot a music video for the song. The video was shot in North Hollywood and stars Jamie and actress Megan Drust. The video was released on Youtube on the 7th of October. The song received airplay on most national and regional radio stations in Ireland, and reached number 7 in the Irish iTunes charts. With a highly distinctive depth and richness in his voice, Jamie Harrison sings a blend of Soul, Pop/Rock, and folk.
